You will also be provided a journal, a water brush, and other tools to take home.

Advanced Practice at the Tilden Native Plant Garden

Setting off from Castle in the Air, we will take a short drive for an artistic tour of California native plants in Tilden's Regional Parks Botanic Garden. Although you'll be given a fresh kit of Kristin's special eight-pigment palette, this course will skip the instruction on mixing and matching colors, so it's important that you have taken one of my workshops in the past. During the course of the day, we'll travel as a group through the garden's many winding paths, and I will give several demos along the way. This is a chance for you to use your skills in a variety of outdoor settings!

We'll meet at Castle in the Air and then carpool to Tilden.

When: April 13, 11am - 5pm
Cost: $145 (includes kit)
Register: Castle in the Air

Poetry as Inspiration in your - Castle in the Air, Berkeley

Bring in a natural object and will guide you through this sense exploration, my color mixing and matching method, and tips on how to sketch and paint your subject. You'll be given my simple kit that includes a palette with eight pigments that you'll learn to transform into a full range of beautiful and harmonious colors. "…. you did WAY more than teach us to play with watercolors. The whole drive home over the mountain after the workshop I saw colors and shadows I never see.

This morning I was looking at the way the mountains get lighter and go to blue in the distance.

This afternoon I was seeing how the light comes through the trees.

So cool… the waking up you did with us!"
